How much power for this system?

How big should my power supply be? I'm planning to build with an Intel
D945GNT motherboard, which has on-board video; 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin
DDR2 SDRAM; Pentium D 920; two 300 gb SATA hard drives; floppy drive;
dvd drive. Ideally, the power supply would be big enough to handle a
PCIe video card, if I add one later. Thanks.

That should run fine on about 400 watts, if the power supply is a good
brand. I've got an almost identical rig running fine off a Seasonic 380
(fast and rock-solid stable). Just make sure that your power supply
includes a 6-pin PCI-Express power connection, as not all of them do. If
you want to jazz up the case a bit, try the OCZ Modstream (MODULAR!) 450.
You will love it, and it will support your planned rig just fine. -Dave

I will also recommend the OCZ Modstream. The 450 peaks out at 520w or
thereabouts IIRC. It also has the benefit of having to only use the
connectors you need and that helps to keep the 'innards of your system nice
and neat. I use it in this system with a similiar setup as yours but with 4
SATA hdds and a PCIE ATI X850 and have not had any problems at all.

Thank you, gentlemen. I hope you guys are around when I actually start
to build. This will be my first homebuilt computer, so I'm bound to
have more questions.
