I'm involved in a debate on how many percent of windows xp computers
might have AutoRun disabled for whatever reason.
This is interesting in case someone requires a CD or DVD were a
certain program should start automatically without user intervention,
e.g. in order to open a slide show.
Some people with such requirements are not aware that AutoRun might be
disabled or otherwise non-functional and therefore their attention
have to be drawn to that fact in order to avoid disappointments.
In the particular case we are debating, a lawsuit was filed because
the defendant did not pay the wage. He argues that is was agreed, that
a presentation will open automatically on every windows pc, which is
not the case. If let's say, only 5% of windows pcs have AutoRun
disabled that could be acceptable, but not if significantly more
computers are affected.
Thank you for your answers and references to respective surveys.
