How make mobo beep from within XP?

How can I make the motherbeeper make a sound from within XP?

Sometimes I mute the XP volume control but there some things which I
still want to have a notification beep for, so in thise cases I
would like to make the mobo beeper make a noise.

Of course such a facility is supported. Try this link. It pops up
a window and you press the button to hear the beep.

However, I would like a utility while allows me to use the beep
without a button.

I would like an executable which plays the beep directly so I can
link system events to it.

Only time I have had this beep for me is if no sound card is present in
the system.

The real reason I posted was because I love your wording on the OP.

Digging around the Internet, you would find a lot of code samples similar to
that VC# code which makes an API call. If the application wants to
communicate with the PC speaker it must make this call.

W2k and Xp don't support PC speaker anymore.

BTW my system refused to beep as expected )

You are cofusing sound from the PC speaker usually in the case connected to
the motherboard and sound provided by the audio system, either built in or
on a plug-in card.

I have a sound card and the speakers attached to that are external
to the system case. They usually play any sounds.

I have a piezo beeper on my mobo. That makes a noise when the beep
program I linked to below is run.
