How long does outlook/exchange retain calendar appointments?

Does anyone know how long Outlook/Exchange retains a users calendar
appointments for? Is there a time limit, e.g. two months, three months, etc?
 
The appointments will stay in your calendar until they're either deleted,
move manually to an archive or auto-archived
 
For Personal Folders, it depends on what you set it for in the Archiving tab of the calendar's propeties. For Exchange, it is usually the same except the Admin can set aging policies on your mailbox.
