hai,
pls help me how to set a password for a ppt file so that other users can be
blocked and also guide me how to give a password for a ppt if the password is
unknown?Pls help me...

In ppt XP onwards

Go to TOOLS > OPTIONS > SECURITY to set a password to prevent opening or to
prevent modifying.

I dont think anyone here will be telling you how to get into password
protected files if that is your second question!

If you are using PowerPoint 2002/XP and above,
you can set password to protect your presentation from modifying like what
John had said.

If you are using PowerPoint 2000 and below, this feature isn't supported.
You can though, embed your presentation into MS Word or Excel, which allows
you to protect the document with password.
