How fast does the cpu have to be to get 5.9 index score?

My C2D E6850 scored 5.7 @3.0ghz. I overclcocked it to 3.4ghz and the score
never budged.

Install two Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 Kentsfield 2.66GHz 2 x 4MB L2 Cache LGA 775 Processors. Of course, your motherboard would have
to support two CPUs.

You have to learn more about servers and high-end workstations.

You cannot have two Core 2 processors running together as they do not
support SMP. You need Xeons, and not the Conroe or Kentfield version of
the Xeon.

You need Xeon Woodcrests (dual) or Clovertowns (quad) to run SMP
configurations. There might be newer cores out by now.

Nah, my E6850 at 3.4ghz will still beat that config in most games as they
are single threaded so can only make use of one core.

Interesting read, thanks. It says you need 2 AMD Athlon FX-70 dual-core
processors (2.6 GHz) to get a 5.9. But it's as I said, my single C2D @3.4ghz
will run most games faster than those two cpu's because most games are
single threaded anyway. For a game to take advantage of two dual core cpu's
the game programmer would have to develop the game so that it uses all 4
cores. My overall score will never go over 5.8 anyway as I am not a big
enough sucker to install two 10,000rpm Raptors in RAID mode just so it says
5.9. My HDD's score 5.8 now. According to that article, my overall 5.7 score
puts me in the top 5% so I can live with that.
