How do you view images in preview pane for Outlook?

I am converting my home from Express to Outlook and want to know if there is
a way to preview image in Outlook, as there was in Outlook Express. The wife
hates having to open individual files from family and friends.

Not on the receiver's side. If your senders create Rich Text or HTML
messages and embed the pictures, then you'll see them in the reading pane.
It they attach them, that's how you'll see them.
