On Word 2003, how do you update a style to match a selection by right
clicking and selecting it from the menu as you can do in Word 2000? So far I
can only see that you can do it from the Styles and Formatting Task Pane and
this isn't as quick as the old method?

You can replicate Word 2000 behavior (though I don't recognize it from your
description) by checking the box for "Prompt to update style" on the Edit
tab of Tools | Options. FWIW, if you have the task pane displayed, this is
actually much quicker (click the style name and choose Update to Match
Selection).
