how do you reformat an old *.pst file to work with 2003?

I upgraded outloof from 2000 tto 2003 as I kept getting the message 'message
store has reached max size'. The old outlook has a limit of 1.8Gb, but 2003
has 20Gb limit. However, I am still getting same error message (No.
0x8004060c), so obviously my old *.pst file is still in an old format and
2003 doesn't recognise it properly to allow bigger limit. How do I cure this?

It's not the version of Outlook that matters as much as the format of the
PST. ANSI-format PSTs, like those supported in OL 97-2002, cannot exceed
1.8 GB even in Outlook 2003. You need a Unicode-format PST, supported by
Outlook 2003 only, if you want to exceed that limit.

See if something here helps:
