Hi everyone,

For each of 10 items, I have input from three people, for example:

1 Bob
1 Rob
1 Cob
2 Bob
2 Rob
2 Cob

I have the actual input for each person in separate sheets arranged
like this:

1 Bob
2 Bob
3 Bob

I need to put the inputs from each person into the overall sheet. What
I would like to do is autofilter the overall sheet to only select the
rows for Bob, copy his data from his individual input sheet, then paste
the data so that it only goes into his rows and cells. However, what
happens is that the data gets pasted into the cells and rows that have
also been filtered out. Is there a different way to paste that could
make this happen? Thanks.

Frank

You should have been using Excel 97 or before. Excel 2000 or later doesn't
have this problem.

Anyway try this:

1. Select the range containing the AutoFilter Result.
2. Edit | GoTo | Special | Visible cells only.
3. Copy and paste the selection to your desired location.

Hope this help

When you paste, it will paste into a contiguous range, not just the
visible cells in the filtered range.

Perhaps you could sort by name, and paste into the grouped cells.
