How do you make a population pyramid in excel?

I am trying to make a pop pyramid in excel - males one side, females the
other. Any advice on how to do this without having to make one list negative
numbers (the negatives show up on the axis as -2% etc. and I don't want this).
 
If your reason for not wanting to use negative numbers is because of
negative values on the axis then you should know that if you use a custom
format on the axis like #;#;# all values show as positive.
