how do you get your field to not round up to the next number?

I have entered a unit price but it keeps rounding up to the next whole
number? How do I stop this. In my preferences, I have chosen 3 decimals?
 
Is your unit price field in your table set to be a Long Integer?
Change it to Double if it is.
