How do you forward a message without auto-downloading pictures?

Using Outlook 2003. I'm trying to forward a possible phishing email to the
'abuse' address for the purported sender. But Outlook insists on downloading
all the pictures in the email before allowing me to forward it. Is there any
way to bypass that?

There certainly doesn't seem to be any reason to download the pictures
before forwarding the email. They're just text links, and there should be no
problem. This just serves to discourage people from reporting phishing and
spam.

Outlook 12 will have an option for forwarding without downloading pictures, but you can't get around that in Outlook 2003 (at least not without drastically changing the message). What you might consider is opening the message, choosing Edit | Edit Message, then Format | Plain Text and then forwarding the now-plain text message. That will avoid any downloading of pictures.

Good idea, but when I try that, Outlook wants to download the pictures before
letting me edit the message.
