How do you force Outlook to open each link in a new browser window?

Topic says it all.

I am sick of this program hijacking my open browser when I click on a link
in an email message.

It's always annoying. Sometimes it's downright destructive!

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Have you ensured that "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts" is cleared in
Control Panel | Internet Options | Advanced tab?

Hehe...I don't know how long it's been there, probably a while :)

You'll be interested to know that Outlook 2003 forces a new browser window
to open despite what the user has set in Internet Explorer options...and
that a lot of people are angry about it. The half of all users who
preferred not to reuse windows are happy about it, of course...

I just reinstalled OS a couple months ago. It's probably something I
haven't touched since the last time I installed XP which was a few years
ago, so I just forgot about it! (Or so I am telling myself, to reduce that
clueless feeling! ;-) )

Yes, I AM interested to know that! Sounds annoying... Sounds like poor
design also. I thought MS was trying to be MORE attentive to user comfort
factor, not less! :-(

Any workarounds surfacing?

Thanks again!

PS - on the use of 'NOSPAM' in your email address: Recently, I've heard
it's better to put the 'nospam' in the domain section of your email addy,
because the way you have it right now, mvps.org server still is tasked with
looking for the user 'jfiorelloNOSPAM' if someone tries to spam that
address. As opposed to 'jfiorello@NOSPAM_mvps.org', which will never even
get to your domain, thus never bother it!

Well, I think the change was made in the first place because of people
complaining that Outlook would reuse windows instead of opening new
ones...but IMO it would have been better for Outlook not to override the IE
setting. Then again, I really don't know what the thought process at MS was
on that one, so I may well be missing important information :) I don't
know of any workarounds at this point.

As for the NOSPAM thing, I'll take it under advisement ;-)
