How do you enable more than 1 drop-down box in Word?

I have three drop-down boxes set up on a form. When I protect the form, only
one of the fields shows up as a drop-down box (with the blank box and the
downward pointing arrow). If you click in the area where the other two
appear, it will show then. When the form is being filled out, I want the
person using the form to see that there are three drop-down boxes, not just
one. They should not have to click on it to see that it is a drop-down box.

That's the way Word works, and there's no way to change it.

You can go to Tools > Options > View and set the field code shading to
"Always", but I don't think that setting is saved with the document -- it'll
show whatever the user has set on their PC.

The alternative is to replace the protected form with a UserForm
(http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Userforms/CreateAUserForm.htm).
