(Data Access Objects) A programming interface for data access from
Microsoft. DAO/Jet provides access to the Jet database, and DAO/ODBCDirect
provides an interface to ODBC databases via RDO. DAO is a COM object

I went into Safe Mode and installed QuickVerse7 with no problems. Is it bad
to go into SafeMode to install a program. I had no applications running in
Windows. But kept getting this error:Setup has detected that Microsoft DAO
in in use. Programs using DAO must be exited before setup can continue.

I have no idea how the DAO could cause a problem since I had no applications
running.

Sorry, don't know, either. There is a DAO newsgroup link on the page I
suggested.
Perhaps you'll get an answer, there.
Good luck!
