How do you delete the original Administrator account?

I'm running XP Pro with SP1 and all released fixes. I'm looking to clean
the machine up before ghosting. Noticed that I still have the original
'Administrator' user account on the machine. My user account 'Bryan' also
has administrator rights. I'd like to delete the Administrator account and
use the Bryan account only. When logged in as Administrator I do have the
option of deleting Bryan but when logged in as Bryan I do not have the
option of deleting Administrator. Any way around this?

Thanks in advance, Bryan

Bryan;
I don't think so and you probably don't want to.
If you do and you later have issues with "Bryan" your only fix may be
a reinstall instead of simply copying data to a new profile.
The Administrator is a potentially valuable tool.

Why not just delete Bryan and use Administrator as your main account?

The built-in Administrator account cannot be deleted,
can be renamed, and can be disabled (but this will not
prevent it from being used in a safe mode boot).

IMO one should never trust in having only one admin
account. What if its profile became corrupted and login
to it failed?

No. By design, the built-in Administrator account _cannot_ be
deleted.

Thanks to everyone that responded. So the short answer is you can't (and
really don't want to) delete the built in administrator's account.

Is there a way to reset the admin account to the system default? On my
machine the account had been used and reconfigured before I created my own
separate account.

Thanks again, Bryan

Reconfigured administrator account? I don't get it. You can do what ever to
the name of the account but the SID is remain the same. I wound't recommend
deleteing it but you should definately rename the dang account. make sure
its part of local administrators group. that's the default.

By reconfigured I mean that programs have been installed, the desktop
properties modified, etc, etc under the account. Administrator rights,
grouping and the name are not an issue. Just wanted to get the default
administrator account back to it's original out of the box config and clean
up the machine before I ghost it.

Thanks, Bryan

Maybe you can do that by going to the Documents and Settings for and emptying or deleting the appropriate folder.
