How do you create fractions in Word?

Word will give me one half, one fourth, and three fourths as fractions. How
can I get other numerical fractions to print out (for example, 1/3)? There
is the same question on the FAQ page. The page it sends me to gives me an
Error 404 message. The MS Feedback page says it's not working. The Help and
Support page says I might have to pay if I ask them a question. I went to
the "community of users" page and searched for my question with 0 results.
After that time-consuming swim in a muddy pond, I hope some human out there
can say a few words to point me in the right direction.

Mine may be the coward's way out, but it works: I go to insert/symbol and
find the approprite fraction in the type fonts - Arial is my default and most
are there. I also use the Tools/autocorrect/options to replace typed fraction
with the symbols. I type a lot of recipes and this has been very convenient.

If you're typing only recipes, you don't need 3/16. Recipes use only the
fractions included in the standard Unicode fonts.

The earlier part of the thread had long since lapsed and there was no
reference to recipes in the reproduced part of the text - but if that was
the criteria then the standard character set will suffice.

You've quoted (again) the text I referred to: "I type a lot of recipes and
this has been very convenient."

I type recipes. Don't know about Lily of the Field who started this thread.
Think we've given LOTF plenty of ideas, though.

Another of those senior moments ;)
