How do you copy a TOC to a blank document in Word

I need to copy my TOC to a blank document in word without the hyperlinks.
When i do this just as a paste and it's printed, an error message appears
where the page numbers are. I've also tried copying as a "paste special" MS
office drawing object, however, my TOC overlaps on two pages and word cuts
off after the first page. I've also tried pasting as RFT, Unformatted text,
pictures, etc., bascially every option there is to include trying adobe pdf
and nothing works. any suggestions?

Copy and paste, but before printing, unlink the field using Ctrl+Shift+F9.
When you print, fields are updated (assuming you have this option set on the
Print tab of Tools | Options), and of course this "breaks" the TOC once
there is nothing there for it to be based on.
