How do you combine lists

How do I combine two lists from different files;

File 1 File 2
Mike Mike
Dave Larry
Jim Sam
Harry Dave
Pete Helen

With a result of:
Mike
Dave
Jim
Harry
Pete
Larry
Sam
Helen

Copy the two lists into a new worksheet.
(add a header in Row 1)

then Data|Filter|Advanced filter and copy the unique values to a different
location.
