how do you change the view mode for attachments

Currently when I bring up an attachment in Outlook, the view is a 2 pane
window. To read the whole document, I have to print it out. Please tell me
how to change this.
 
It's a Word setting -- Tools | Options | General | Allow starting in Reading
layout
