rows need to be different colors dependin on which criteira it falls into can
you help me

On way is to use conditional coding. You don't say what type of Access
object you are working on, but conditional formatting will work on a
continuous form, a single form, or a report.

It also works in datasheet view but in all cases you are limited to 3
conditions.
