How do you analyse services

There are several freeware utilities that I have seen that can analyze
what programs you have running at startup & make recommendations as to
what to do with them. Is there any similar program available that will
do pretty much the same thing but which analyzes services instead?

Thanks in advance

No. You have to figure services out yourself. Every machine is different.
Every user is different. You have to experiment after you learn some
things. Obviously you will have learned a lot more after experimenting.
Like why can't I get online after I disabled the DHCP Client service. Or
why doesn't defrag work or why do I get Can't Collect Information in System
Information (msinfo32) after disabling the DCOM Server Process Launcher
service.

Here's some links to information on Services.
