How do u get all of a 200GB HDD??

Hi all, a mate of mine has a Western Digital
200GB hdd. What would be the best way to
get all (or most) of the 200 GB??

Would it be better, if he Installed 2k as a clean
install, (partition it in setup (1 137GB, and 1 partition
63 GB)? then install SP4? Then do the LBA fix ??
Or other??

I know formatting in NTFS would be better
than FAT/FAT32.

Or

If he has an OS already (2k / SP4, and with the
LBA fix enabled, (which didn't work), and
he wanted to add the 200GB in as a slave, how would/could he get the whole
200GB as a slave??

What else would he have to do??

Any info appreciated

Thanx

Slip-stream Win2K to SP4 then install Win2k.

48bit LBA in Win2K -

Wouldn't it just be a whole lot easier to use the software that came
with the drive to fix the problems that Windows has with the large
drives? It worked for me on 2 different systems, Win2k and XP Pro.
I bought the same 200GB drive and it came with software that adjusts
the registry so Windows now sees the whole drive!

Well I think thats what the prob is right now.

He wants to add it as a slave. And the program
on the WD site didnt seem to work. BUT as the other
post said it may be better to do a clean install.

Altho, it may also be coz he's trying to install it on
an older (not too sure how old exactly) mobo. Which
doesnt help!
