How do I view calendar by event category -and- date?

My calendar is full of events and are categorized. Green is 'Booked' and Blue is 'Inquiry'.

I want to view the calendar by 'events' To do this I go to view -> current view and change it to 'events'.

This is all good and I can sort by categories to view all my blue 'inquiry' categories all together to see how many I have.

Problem is, they are scattered datewise although they are grouped together they don't seem to be in any particular order either. I'd like them to be sorted by date as well so I can see which inquiry comes first, second, third, etc.

Any help appreciated.

looking at:

which version of Outlook
are these coloured Labels or coloured Categories?

Ok I made a low res screenshot.

Notice how I am sorting my dates by category? The dates aren't in order. If you look at the first few blue ones, the 7/11/07 comes before the 1/11/07.

If I sort by the date range (recurrance range start) then the categories get all messed up.

I'm trying to have it sort by dates as well as categories.
