How do I use styleref to refer to hidden text?

I am using styleref to repeat a heading in the header of a page. The heading
itself is formatted as hidden text. The paragraph containing styleref is
formatted not to be hidden. Yet, the heading does not show. Is there any way
around this?

What I want to do is repeat the last heading1 in the headers of the pages
that apply to the text below the heading.

Unfortunately, one of the most maddening limitations of the StyleRef field
is that it does not pick up any direct formatting *except* the Hidden
property. But if I am understanding you correctly, you don't need this
workaround, as StyleRef by default will reflect the most recent paragraph in
a given style, even if it appears on a previous page. If this is not the
issue, post back with a clearer statement of what you're trying to do; there
may still be a workaround.

StyleRef will not pick up text formatted as hidden. It will pick up text
formatted as white.
