Without using VBA or conditional formatting, what is the syntax an "IF"
formula would take if i say, I wanted the contents of A1>5 to be shown in
green.

Any help much appreciated, thanks

Hi,

A custom number format
[Green][>5]General;General

Although as the others have said, why no use of conditional format?

Cheers
Andy

I have the same problem. conditional format limits to three different
formats. i need 10.
