How do I "unassign" a deleted Macro from an object in Excel?

In Excel 2002, if I assign a Macro to an object then subsequently delete the
macro, the object still "thinks" it is a Macro Button.
i.e. the cursor changes as it passes over the object and looks like it is
running something if you click on it.
This could lead to confusion when I distribute the Worksheet to other users.
I'd prefer not to delete the object (in this case a fully formatted chart)
to get over this problem.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Right click on the object

Click on Assign Macro

In the window that opens the macro that was assigned should b
highlighted in the top line. Hit the delete key to remove that listin
and then hit O
