How do I (un)reverse the alpha display of file list (File/Open)?

All of a sudden tonight, when I choose File/Open in Word or Excel the file
list is in reverse alphabetical order. Does anyone know how to un-reverse
it? I have plugged in a new keyboard and keys are in slightly different
places, so I am sure that I somehow inadvertently pressed a key that caused
this but I can figure out what I did!

Hi, awposting. Click on File | Open, then click on the "Name" column heading
to make it sort by that column. Click on "Name" again to toggle between
ascending and descending order.

Wow, thanks for the quick response! But, I don't have any column headings in
the file list. I'm using Word 2002 for Office XP. Any ideas?

Ahhh! I guess I figured it out. I had to click on the View icon first and
change to a different view (i.e., Details view vs. List view) that had column
headings. THEN clicked on name and it worked. Don't know that changed all
of a sudden (in multiple applications!). Thanks again, garfield.

If you change the sorting in Windows Explorer, it will affect all
applications that use Explorer windows.
