How do I type text to fit 3x5 card as I type?

i have an exam that will let us use a 3x5 card front and back. someone told
me that i can have the text shrink as i am typing, but i can't figure out
how. Help!

Couldn't agree with you more about designing to specs for each set of specs
even if the content is the same. I especially see this in image files where
folks expect to use the same image for half a dozen different purposes.

Re the Publisher scaling issue: it isn't a feature of the program, but is a
printer property. I'm using a Brother 5050 @ work which offers both a "Fit to
Paper Size" & "Free Scaling" option... knew I'd seen it somewhere.

Nope - no shrink to fit page either. We deal with people who want to do that
every now and again. No one-click answer for them either.

Maybe it's me but if I want a 3x 5 card, I start with a 3x 5 card. If I need
something smaller after I'd one the layout, I know that it's probably going
to take some redesign work to be legible. I *hate* teeny tiny print!

Hadn't given that a thought. PowerPoint has a similar feature for
AutoShapes, but it isn't available in Word.

I should have been more specific about Shrink to Fit being a feature in
Word's Print Preview. It may also be in Publisher '02/'03, but I can't
remember. I think there is a printing feature for scaling to fit the page,
though.
