how do i type text on a scanned document

i have scanned the document but do not see how i can now type within it. It
is a form style document.

You scanned it in as a picture. You could either put text boxes all over the
form or recreate it. Neither of thoseoptions is quick. Are you really sure
you don't want to fill it out by hand?

If you have Adobe Acrobat 8 or 9, you could convert it into a pdf and run it
through the Form recognition feature. It will "read" the form and add form
fields. This may not be what you want though if you want to keep it in Word.

So depending on its length, you might rescan it using OCR feature, clean it
up and then add the Word form fields to it.

Hi all,

Right click on the picture/ Format/ Layout/ Behind Text. Be sure to work in a view that allows you to see the picture while typing.
Be sure to save your file first with a new name so you do not lose what you have.
