I've loaded the Adobe Acrobat Standard software and do not have the pdfmaker
icons on my toolbar in Word and Excel. How do I turn them on?

In Word2003, you make a pdf through the Print dialog: Ctrl-P (not the
toolbar Print icon!), select Adobe Acrobat as your printer, and
"print" your document. It'll first try to save it in "My Documents,"
or you can navigate to where you want to put it.

In addition to my earlier reply, you should make sure your version of
Acrobat is compatible with your version of Office. For example, you
need Acrobat 8.1 or later to use the Acrobat toolbar add-in in Office
2007 applications.

You can do that - but you get more facilities by using the add-in toolbar
buttons to create PDF files.

I don't know what that means -- more than are available through the
various "Options" and "Properties" buttons within Acrobat?

The add-in provides functions from Word that are not available simply by
printing to the driver and not available from the printer driver setup eg
the behaviour of links in the document.

Are you maybe talking about Word2007? Note that your first message in
this thread is a list of links saying that you _can't_ do whatever it
is you're referring to, in various versions.

My first post says you *CAN* do that - i.e. print to the Adobe driver? It
was garfield-n-odie who posted a list of links, which show how to restore
the toolbar functions for a variety of Acrobat versions.
Word 2007 has its own PDF functions which are a pale shadow of what can be
achieved with Acrobat in Office 2007 or earlier.
