How do I turn off update field on invoice form?

On the sales invoice form, when I bring up old saved invoices, the date
automatically is updated on the screen. How do I turn this feature off?

automatically is updated on the screen. How do I turn this feature off?

The date is the result of a DATE field. Replace the DATE field with a
CREATEDATE field, which always shows the date you first saved the
document.

If you're using a template to create the invoices, also replace the
DATE field in the template with a CREATEDATE field so that new
invoices will automatically behave correctly.
