How do I turn off the Block on the Delete Key

Word has just started requiring that I type a "Yes" to allow me to delete a
block of text. If I hit the delete key after hightlighting the block, instead
of deleting, Delete Block "Yes" "No" appears on the Staus Bar.

How do I turn this delete blocking protection off?

In Word, click on Tools | Options | General | uncheck the two boxes for
WordPerfect help and navigation | OK.
