I would like to preserve the appearance of the MS Word document but turn it
into an MS Powerpoint presentation. Each page in the Word document will be a
slide in the Powerpoint presentation. Is this possible? Any help will be
GREATLY appreciated!

Save the word document as a webpage and go to powerpoint and click
insert>>Slides from files. Select the webpage version of your doc and push
open. Then push insert or insert all.

TechSmith has a product, SnagIt, that is an excellent method for doing this.
Simply print the document from Word to SnagIt, (which can save the document
as any of several graphic formats) then use Photo Album or Image Importing
Wizard to insert the saved graphics into PowerPoint.

Have you considered using Acrobat PDF instead of PowerPoint?
It might work out better in some respects and even if not, once you have a PDF,
you can copy pages and paste them into PPT as pictures.

Or make screen captures of your Word doc in Full Screen view and paste them into
PPT.
