how do i transition SOUNDS in presentations i.e. "fade" sounds

I've got a presentation in which I want to use 5 distinct sound clips (a new
one about every 15 slides). but I want to avoid that little blip of silence
during the slide transition, so there is a somewhat smooth SOUND as well as
visual transition from slide to slide.
