How do I transfer my Outlook Calendar from one computer to another

I just got a new laptop and need to know how to transfer my Microsoft Outlook
calendar from the old laptop to the new one. Is there a way to do this other
than manually re-typing ALL appointments into Outlook on the new computer?

Yes - you want to use the Import/Export feature in Outlook (all
versions I believe). Go to File>Import and Export... in many cases
this feature is not installed and you may be asked to insert your
Office cd the first time - this is a one-time thing. Once the Import/
Export wizard opens, you will be offered a number of options - it
sounds like you want to "Export to a file." It will then offer you
formatting choices including "Comma Separated values in Windows" which
works best for me. It will then prompt you for a source folder (in
your case, calendar) then will allow you to save as a file somewhere
(I generally use the desktop). Transfer that file to your new laptop
via thumb drive or email, then simply "Import" into Outlook using the
same wizard. I generally use this to back up all my Outlook content
periodically - especially my contact list since I work in sales and my
customer list is my living.

Good luck !
