How do I stop send/recieve when the messages have been deletes?

After several unsuccessfull attempts to send e-mails I deleted them. However
they continually appear to be "stuck" in the send function each time I
download my e-mail from the ISP. Even though I no longer have them in
Outlook. Each time the error message is given for the unsuccessful task. It
seems that any message created as new mail has this problem, which does not
ocurr when I forward or reply to my incoming messages?

What is the error message? Please include it in its entirety and also include
any error numbers.
