How do I stop language defaulting back to English (US) in Word 20.

I have removed English US in the Language options and it keeps defaulting
itself back in - any suggestions?
 
I have checked and this is off. I think the problem is I created loads of
templates from the normal template and had not changed the language to
English Uk and need to fix each template individually now!
 
Yes, unfortunately, as noted in the very last section of the article, each
existing file with incorrect settings must be fixed separately. :-(
