How do I stop a single email that I keep getting over and over?

I keep getting the same email over and over - hundreds of times per day.
I've set a rule to delete it upon receipt, but that doesn't stop the horrible
"DING" from happening every minute. This has never happened before or since
with any other email. Also, aside from the original email that started this
madness, the continuing emails in question doesn't show up anywhere on my
web-based email provider (Yahoo). Someone please help me stop this menace!

I have Outlook Pro 2003.

Thanks.

I think I have now solved it. I have gone onto my server and deleted the
e-mail from there. It hasn't as yet reappeared in my inbox. Strill don't know
what happened to folder though.

If you're checking for new messages every minute, that's probably the
problem. If the message is large, there is not enough time to download
it before another mail poll interrupts the download. Change your
message polling to the 10 minute recommended minimum and see if that
works.

Thanks for the advice, but it didn't work. The email isn't even on my server
anymore (I deleted it long ago). It seems to be coming from nowhere now!
And besides, the email had no attachment, so it wasn't large at all.

I have exactly the same problem...An email from a colleague keep coming in
every time outlook sends/receives! Extremely annoying. This email didn't
either had any attachment & I also have deleted the message from the
server????

Did you solve the problem? How?

Would be most thankful to know...
