how do i stop 16 workbooks from opening when I open excel 2007?

Every time I open Excel 16 workbooks from previous files open automatically,
how do I stop this?

Hi Gary

Office button>Excel Options

Advanced...General
Clear the box that say "At startup open all files in" if this is the path where the 16 files are
