how do i speed up the slides in a powerpoint presentation?

I'm trying to create a fast moving animated calendar by using the animation
functions, but I get these horribly long delays between animations.

How do I shorten the time the slide is displayed and shorten the time the
screen is blank between slides?

Are you trying to get fast animations from slide to slide, or object to
object on one slide?

Have you tried manually typing in a time instead of using fast/medium/slow

eg.
00:01
0.05
