How do I share a Word document so that multiple people can edit it

In need several people to be able to edit the same file at the same time. I
know how to do this in Excel but I do not know how to do this in word. I can
not change the format to an HTML fil because it is a 3 MB file that has
mulitiple links to excel files.
 
Files cannot be shared this way in Word.
