how do i set up an email hyperlink properly?

I have designed a web page and everything is working fine except for the
email link. i have tried evrything that i can think of but I am not an
expert on front page, can someone help

Email links begin with mailto: before your email address so it would look
like this
mailto:[email protected]

This would open the senders email program
