How do I set up an attachment line for my e-mails?

I got a new computer two months ago. With my old computer and windows 2000,
when I sent an e-mail with a document attached, the title of the attachment
appeared on a line in the main section of the header right under the address.

My new computer has Windows XP. when I send a document using outlook, the
attachement Icon for the document appears in the tex of the message.

How do I get he attachment back to the way it was before?

Thanks!

When previewing or viewing an e-mail with an attachment, whether it was sent
or received, the attachment is still shown as part of the header area; i.e.,
the attachment is above the separator line. When composing a new message
and adding an attachment, the grey header area is enlarged and the Attach
field is added to show the attachments, but it is still in the header area.
Same happens if you opt to use Word as your e-mail editor instead of the one
built into Outlook when composing a new message.

You'll have to explain why YOU see the attachments in the body instead of
the header area because I see attachments listed in the header area.

Go back to the software and version that you were using before to get back
that old behavior. We don't know WHICH version of Outlook that you are
using because you never mentioned it. Maybe you are using some archaic
version, like Outlook 97. If so, you'll have to wait around until someone
still using or still familiar with that old version happens to submit a
reply. I use Outlook 2002 at home and Outlook 2003, and the attachments are
listed in the header area.

If you are sending your messages formatted as HTML or Plain Text the
attachment icon will be displayed below the Subject text box. If you format
your messages as Rich Text, the attachment icon will appear in the message
area. I'm assuming you are using Outlook 2003 on your new computer. If so, go
to Tools>Options>Mail Format tab and change to Rich Text to HTML format.
