How do I set up a down load file for sale in frontpage

G

Guest

I am trying to sell some items through my website.
For example a pizza recipe.
I have a paypal account and that is how I accept payment.
I want to be able to post the file to my website so when someone pays for
the pizza recipe, they go to that page and download the file.

thanks in advance.

In PayPal, you can indicate a return page that the user would be return to after paying for the
item. You need to read the PayPal manual on the use of the Buy Button, etc.

Thanks.
I guess I did not make myself clear.
I have no problem understanding the paypal button or where you go after you
purchase an item.

I want to know how do I upload the file using Fontpage so that once someone
pays for the recipe, they can download the file themselves
I admit to being unable to understand how this is done.
I know it is possible but I do not know how I should upload the file.
Up until now, I have done everyting manually.
That is when I sell the recipe I send an email with an attachment.
I just want to know how to automate the process.
thanks in advance for your assistance.

Just import the file into the current open FP web / site and then link to it, then publish to your
live/remote server.

Also if it is a text file, then you need to zip it first.

he probably wouldn't want an exposed link to it if he's selling a secret pizza recipe.

The link would be on the page that he indicated as the return page for the PayPal Buy Button.

Are you tired of the babble yet Albert?

There are several methodologies to secure downloadable products each of
which requires server-side scripting to enable a customer to download a
product without exposing the location from which the product can be
downloaded to anybody that has not paid for it.

You get it? You sell to Charlie and the next day his sister Charlene is
going to download the product. Then her best friend Betty will get it, then
Charlie's pal from work and on and on.

It takes spending money to make money in this business and the first lesson
is not to waste your time with babbling fools who won't come right out and
explain the facts of life.

Look for a solution from somebody that sells FrontPage add-ins or hire a
developer...

I'd accept payment in pizza sauce myself but since I'm half Sicilian and the
smell of my cooking makes woman throw themselves at me the way it is I'd
have to accept federal reserve notes system and accept PayPal myself ;-)

Yah but only Napolitans know how to make real pizza.
