How do I set my printer to return to default after every print?

Our printer has 3 trays and Tray 3 is letterhead. My default printer
prefences is to use Auto (which selects Tray 1). When I am using Word and I
change my printer properties to Tray 3 for a specific print job it does not
return to the default after printing. Even if I close Word and open a
different file it still is set on Tray 3 unless I change the setting back to
Auto. This only seems to happen with Office applications and not others so I
am assuming it is a Word issue and not my print driver.

Is there a way to force Word to return to the defualt print preferences
after every print job (or atleast after I close and reopen word the next
time)?
