whenever i open microsoft word my cursor usually is at the top of the page
but now it appears at the middle of the page. I have tried to back space,
along with other troubleshooting procedures but nothing seems to work. The
only time it seems to work is when I'm typing, it tends to move upwards. How
do I set my cursor position at the correct margin?

Somehow "Center Vertically" has been turned on. How you fix it differs
in different versions of Word.

Go to File > Page Setup > Layout and make sure the vertical alignment is set to
Top. It sounds like it's currently set to Center.
