How do I set a program to be my default for viewing pictures? I want to set
Microsoft Picture Manager as the default. Currently the default it JASC
Paint Shop Pro 8 - which wants me to purchase a subscription. I simply want
to view photos on my computer. Now, in order to override the JASC Paint Shop
Pro default, I need to right click on the image file and manually selecting
Microsoft Picture Manager to open the image.

Open up My Documents
From the File Menu | Tools | Folder Options
Click the File Types Tab
Scroll down the list of extensions until you find the extension you want.
Select that file type.
In the section below you'll see it says "Opens with:" It'll give you the
program and ask you if you want to change. Click Change.
Select the appropriate program. Apply and Exit.

For future reference, this Forum is about MS Access databases, you may want
to post similar questions to the Windows Forum. Hope this helps.

Using Windows XP
Click on Start
Click on Search
Then put a Check Mark on Pictures
Then click on Search
Once the search is completed, On the right will be a listing of pictures.
RIGHT Click on one of the pictures, Then go down to Properties.
Under the General Tab
Look for; Opens With: Click on Change
Then scroll down the list and select Any if The graphics programs that you
have
installed on your computer... Then click on Okay
Now any file of that type will be associated with the program you have
selected.
If you have selected the wrong program you will know, cause it will not
open...

That Should take care of your problem.
