How do I scan a document and add it to my outlook folder?

I am using microsoft word office 2003 edition. I have recently lost all my
documents in my folder but I do have printed documents and would like to scan
them and save them to my outlook folder. Can this be done and how do I do
this.Ant help woud be appreciated.
